August Playlist

Here's a playlist of songs that have been my favorite to listen to this summer; I'd originally envisioned the mix to be much more country, but as it turned out, it's a little bit of everything. Let me know if it strikes your fancy and makes you dance around the house a little bit...or if you love any song so much you play it over and over (I'm so very guilty of this). Know any great bluegrass/country/string/international/classic bands? I am always open to new music suggestions, so please dish!

Gillian Welch! I have a feeling you might like her. I've been listening to her my whole life.
Old album: Revival
New(er) album: Time the Revelator. Also, her partner Dave Rawlings has a new album out and it's AWESOME!!

Thanks for the playlist. Some great choices.

Do you ever listen to first aid kit? I think you may like them if you don't already. My husband listens to a lot of the same music you listen to.

Hope your staying cool in this heat....we spent most of the evening drinking cocktails in our kiddie pool with the dogs, ha.

I love the beach boys tune, so summer. I concur on you probably liking the band First Aid Kit. Have you ever heard of Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs? They are one of my faves.

Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter do an amazing psychedelic/country thing; they have a new album out soon & I highly recommend seeing them live if you ever can, they are absolutely my favorite band to see live. You would probably also enjoy Josephine Foster, I imagine, I recommend her album "Graphic as a Star" most highly.
